| UGANDA
|
 Carol
Bellamy (UNICEF) visited Northern Uganda in May
2004 and said, “Uganda is home to one of
the worst humanitarian crisis in the world today.”
Atrocities committed by a rebel force the Lords
Resistance Army (LRA) have seen c.1.4 million
people displaced from their village homes.
1000’s of children have witnessed violence
& killings, been abducted to serve as porters,
become sex slaves or fight with the rebels.
Indeed many have been left as orphans. LightForce
International is working in Lira district in camps
housing displaced people and in the return process
as people move back to their villages.

School Development Projects in Northern
Uganda:
A great opportunity to work with local staff to
improve school facilities – small construction
projects, providing sports equipment, interaction
with children. Involves daily travel to field
locations. Church teams are encouraged to apply.

Costs: £550 for 2 weeks,
plus travel & insurance.

INDIA
|
In India, LightForce
International partners with New India Church of
God and India Gospel Mission. Present projects
include:
Child Care in India
For some time we have been assisting the work
amongst needy children in children's homes in
Chennai. They need lots of love and care as well
as help with their school work, learning English
and creative play. Our volunteers come away with
precious memories of their time there.
Costs: £500 for 4
weeks, plus travel & insurance.
After first 4 weeks, £10/day or £300/4 weeks.

Children’s Camps Albania
& Serbia
An opportunity to work with local staff to set up
children’s camps, participate in daily camp
activity - helping supervise children in various
settings, sports, crafts, dining and other tasks
as required. Church teams are encouraged to apply.

Costs:
£300/2 weeks, £400/3 weeks, £500/4
weeks, plus travel & insurance.
After first 4 weeks £50/extra part or full
week. |
